  • Built test-first: Red-Green-Refactor enforced across the Angular 19 workspace.
  • Flask server translates HTTP button presses into the Tello's UDP text protocol on port 8889 — the bridge a browser can't build itself.
  • Two-column cockpit: live camera feed with HUD overlay and photo gallery on the left, link status, battery, flight controls, telemetry and log on the right.
  • Handles the awkward reality that the drone's Wi-Fi has no internet — including flying it from a phone on the same network.
  • Collapses to a stacked layout on phones, because that is where you actually fly from.
  • Built a Lambda-powered generator for PDF/CSV transaction reports, improving insight delivery and lifting retention by 20%.
  • Rewrote client-side memory management, cutting application downtime by 80% under peak load.
  • Found and patched a critical vulnerability in the authentication system before it was exploited.

Oluwafikayomi Soetan

LAGOS, NIGERIA

I'm Fikayo — a software engineer in Lagos who works on systems where correctness has a currency value attached. At Tireda I designed the end-to-end architecture for buying mutual funds and fixed deposits, the path that has since carried over ₦4.7 billion in investments.

Most of my day is spent between TypeScript and Python: Angular and Next.js on the front, Django and Node behind it, PostgreSQL underneath. I like the unglamorous work — migrating a database off MSSQL without losing a row, cutting downtime by 80%, closing an auth hole before anyone finds it.

Outside of work I build things that have no business case at all: a browser flight deck for a Tello drone, a Gaussian-splat 3D viewer, twenty data structures written from scratch to make sure I actually understood them. I'm finishing a Mechanical Engineering degree at the University of Lagos in the meantime.
